SAD NEWS: Passing of Dr. Randy Pausch

Popular professor from Carnegie Mellon, Dr. Randy Pausch, passed away on July 26th.
Dr. Pausch was the author of the number one best-seller, The Last Lecture, a lecture he gave at Carnegie Mellon last September, after he was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.

If you haven't read it, you should. The book (and lecture available to view on U-Tube) is full of lessons on life. Much of the lessons learned at his expense.
This book and the video-taped lectures were created for his young children, who will never have their dad as they grow up. The book does not focus on sadness, but on life with its good and not-so-good points.

I saw the lecture when I was about half-way finished with the book. The perfect time to watch. I don't know him personally, but am saddened for the loss.

I was saddened by his death also.
If we all could only live such a honest life.

Hi Char and Annie,

thanks for the comments.

I think we do the best we can. Unfortunately, some do better than others (LOL)

I loved The Last Lecture and loved his real last lecture. He inspired me to start working again. I will always be grateful for his willingness to share his story with others
