I know many of you are probably sick of seeing my posts regarding horse slaughter. I am not going to apologize as this is a matter of great concern to me, and should be to you. Even if the welfare of horses is not a priority to you, the integrity of the U.S. food supply and use of tax dollars should be! I am sure you are all aware of horse meat that has entered the EU food chain. Not just horse meat, but horse meat contaminated with drugs not meant for human consumption. The consumption of horse meat is not even legal in the U.S. due to the use of these drugs. We don't even use it in dog food any longer. As far as taxes. We would pay taxes to have our USDA inspect horses to be sent to other countries, when they are already strapped inspecting the existing food animals in our own country!. (Scary isn't it! We can't eat it, but we will willingly feed it to other countries!!!) 4 States are currently seeking to reopen horse slaughter facilities here in the U.S. Our food supply is indeed in danger of being contaminated. Please read these posts and sign the petitions. Educate yourself!!! We are currently in a position to stop this at a Federal level, but we need your support!
